Mindfulness Moments Workshop November 25th 9-10am PST

Upcoming Free Workshop with Dean Moss:  Brain-Heart Interactions in Psychotherapy

Saybrook University would like to invite you to our Mindfulness Moments Workshop by the Mind-Body Medicine faculty and special guest alumni. Monday at 9:00 AM PST/12:00 PM EST for a 1-hour practice.

Current neuroscience and psychophysiological research document autonomic and central nervous system processes that underlie compassion, social affiliation, cognitive flexibility, perspective-taking, and overall cognitive function. Each of these variables are among the goals of psychotherapy.

In this presentation, Dr. Donald Moss describes how adding psychophysiological interventions, such as breath training and heart rate variability training, to psychotherapy, moves the process of psychotherapeutic transformation forward, in: 1) facilitating human caring and compassion, 2) optimizing emotional regulation, and 3) enhancing cognitive flexibility, perspective taking, and executive functioning.
